What real estate agents should know about mold

We have been inspecting homes for mold now since 1997.  What real estate agents should know about mold is that SOS is the company that will bring you solutions not simply identify problems and create ambiguity in your transaction.  We have dealt with transactions up to a billion dollars on a commercial property.  Rarely,  even in new construction, there are no comments from the due diligence and inspection periods.  But no deficiency can stop a transaction faster than a mold issue.  Mold should NOT be an obstacle in a purchase transaction but rather, simply be viewed as something that needs to be addressed.  At SOS that is exactly HOW we approach any and all situations.  There is no way to remove one kind of mold or another one.  See our page on “Good mold vs. Bad mold“.

Remember the mold is a symptom of the problem or leak

Typically the mold portion of a problem is NOT the biggest hurdle or cost.  While it maybe the most emotional one.  We take the fear out of finding mold and provide you and your buyer a mold solution.  No undue discussions about toxic mold.  Simple easy to understand talk and step by step instructions to get the job done right the first time.

We find solutions

Taking air tests and giving you the “result” is not a mold inspection.  That can only lead to either confusion or information overload.  If there is mold, now what?  What if the air tests are wrong (which they typically are)?
